Bega Clinical Training Facility & Student Accommodation

IQon was engaged by the University of Canberra to construct both the new Clinical Training and Student Accommodation facilities within the regional NSW town of Bega. Located at the new Bega South Regional Hospital, the scope of works included the complete construction of two new buildings that had a gross floor area of 300m2 each as well as a new carpark and landscaping.
The Student Accommodation was to act as temporary accommodation for nurses in training from interstate while the training facility located adjacent the student accommodation to function as an education center containing tutorial rooms, office space, amenities and a common corridor dinning areas.
One of the Major focus points of the construction was providing a new power supply to each of the facilities from the existing hospital substations to site with an overall distance of 400 meters through critical areas that had to remain within operation for the hospital. IQON utilized local suppliers and contractors where possible with the carpenter, civil, concreter, and electrician all locally engaged with a focus of stimulating local work within the community, while establishing new work relationships around regional NSW.
The Project was completed on time, within budget and to the Clients Expectations.
