CONTRACT VALUE: $40M

Iqon engaged by Industry Superannuation Property Trust (ISPT) on a lump sum contracting basis to undertake the complete base building refurbishment of the Heritage listed 2 National Circuit and integrated fit out for a Commonwealth Government Tenant. The works have designed to achieve a 5 Star Greenstar rating including ‘as built’ certification.

This project had many significant challenges and primarily involved the high level of coordination for the buildings services to suit the Tenants specific requirements. The building was stripped back to its original structural frame, new concrete slabs laid to the ground floor and two new insertion/link buildings were created for the buildings entrance, reception and lifts. Further to the internal base building works the buildings heritage elements being the external façade and internal entrances were also extensively refurbished.

The fitout of the building provides A grade office accommodation, an extensive security and array supporting back up building engineering services infrastructure. The level of detail required by the Tenant for their fitout works was comprehensive and with many areas requiring extensive acoustic works to achieve the high DB level ratings the Tenants attention to detail was very thorough.

Further to the main building works and integrated fitout a highly secure data centre was constructed inclusive of its fitout all except for the Tenants active IT equipment.

The RM Hope Building was awarded Best Heritage Development at the Property Council of Australia Innovation & Excellence Awards 2013; The Canberra Medallion and Sir John Overall Award for Urban Design and winner in the categories of Heritage Architecture and Interior Architecture at the ACT Architecture Awards 2013.
