This 5 star ‘Green’ commercial office development in the Phillip business district is a substantial development comprising a basement car park of over 2,500m2 for over 100 vehicles and a two level office above ground A grade office accommodation of 4,500m2.
The project was procured via Construction Management and required Iqon to develop a project brief and budget from concept drawings to realise the full potential of the client’s expectations. This task involved substantial design and cost management including liaison as required with the consultant team, ACTPLA and other authorities to assess construction techniques and methodologies.
Construction of the building comprised a traditional bored pier / shotcrete retaining wall system to the basement with post tensioned suspended slabs above. The façade comprised light weight pre-finished composite aluminium cladding to match the adjacent Capital Business Park development, inclusive of external sunshade control measures. Internally the building is Grade ‘A’ office accommodation and the building’s engineering services have been designed to achieve a 5 Star ‘Green Star’ outcome.
