Sri Lanka High Commission
Government of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
CONTRACT VALUE: $6.8M
This greenfields project comprised the construction of a new Chancery Building for the Government of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The project consisted of a three level structure with post tensioned concrete slab and a masonry facade. Iqon worked closely with the project architect to develop cost effective alternatives that assisted our Client in realising greater value for money on their project. Extensive external works were also included and these works consisted of a perimeter security fence, security CCTV, access control entry gates and significant landscaping.
Further to Iqon’s assistance in the re-engineering solutions of the building structure, the in ground water retention system was also thoroughly reviewed and re-engineered to provide a considerable cost saving.
The project, being a High Commission was required to be constructed to a high level of finish. The project finishes were all reviewed by Iqon’s team to ensure the longevity of the building and with close consideration towards the ongoing maintenance costs.
The works were completed in December 2011 inclusive of additional works such as a formal function room and kitchen. Iqon worked closely with the Sri Lanka High Commission to ensure that the additional works had minimal impact on the overall program.
